im puttin together a motor that is basically a stock rebuild and don't have any plans for performance mods ( other than an air intake and exhaust) but my neighbor insists that i should gasket match the intake and head. does anyone know weather i would benifit from doing so? and what kinds of benefits will there be? mo powa? 46 mpg? smokey burnouts?

thanks, i just cut my old dipstick and threaded it, drilled n tapped a scull keychain and locktited that s*** on there. lookin for a pewter skeleton hand for the trans dipstick!

This is my LC Pro Street EFI, when I got her,along with all the extra parts they recommended!

23,000miles on her now, in around 7years, not a daily,though I drive my truck lest twice a week & to shows all summer long! 8-)

Gasket matching helps with smooth airflow and exhaust flow as well. You MAY see nominal increases in hp and gas mileage due to the engine breathing a little better. In my opinion a full port and polish is overrated unless you are driving into the mid to upper rpm limits of your engine.
